哈哈,结果出来了!
First of all I want to tank everybody who contributed to this contest; it is very informative and great fun!
So here is the final result: we had 14 people with 100% right answers and 18 with one or both wrong! This proves for me how difficult it is to say what is real and what is sampled.
You needed me take 1 is REAL
You needed me take 2 is the PMI Bosendorfer290 dry patch in Kontakt.
Pslam 145 take 1 is the PMI Bosnedorfer 290 Wet and
Psalm 145 take 2 is REAL.
The free library goes to theSoundSmith who made a very good analysis. Bravo! Please contact me at pmi3@xs4all.nl for your details.
The story behind these recordings is this: We recorded several takes of Psalm145. Some were ok, some were better. The best had the real telephone in it. I decided to give our samples a try to "repair" the track. As we recorded with aq Buchla piano bar and pedal contact we had the right midi take so I made the "take 1" recording. The repair went very smooth.
Then I decided to give you needed me a try; 10 minutes of switching on Cubase, launching Kontakt and loading the dry sample set. No tweaking on the midi, just a lot of Kontakt reverb. Bounced it to disk and voila there is the ultimate comparison; a raw midi/samples take versus a real acoustic recording.
Thanks for joining the fun!
My time is up, have to go.
